Cinderella: The story follows the fortunes of young Ella whose merchant father remarries following the tragic death of her mother. Keen to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother Lady Tremaine and her daughters Anastasia and Drizella into the family home. But when Ella's father suddenly and unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother's dying words and to "have courage and be kind." And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods. Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an employee at the palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul.
I can easily say the 2015 version of Cinderella is one of my favourite movies of all time. It came on Netflix a couple weeks ago, so naturally I've watched it at least 10 times.
I was never a big fan of the fairytale, but this movie blew me away. It's hard to explain why. I just love the way they portrayed Ella. Sometimes when I don't have enough time to watch the full movie, I'll watch the trailers, because even they just give you the good feels.
This story is just so happy and cute. But it also reveals what happens behind-the-scenes of the fairytale. The way the stepmother manipulates people, the prince being torn between love and duty.
It's simply amazing.
Have you seen the movie? Did you like it? Let me know in the comments! I would love to hear your thoughts :)
I hope you have an enchanting day/evening/night
P.S. Always remember: "Where there is kindness, there is goodness. And where there is goodness, there is magic."
